What is Humane World for Animals?
For the past 70 years Humane World for Animals, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International, has been a leader of the animal protection movement, tackling the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering to drive permanent change and create a better world for all animals around the globe.

Who is eligible to enter the In Our Hands Contest?
To participate in the Contest, you must be a legal resident of, and physically located in, one of the following countries: Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), Germany, India, the United Kingdom, or the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. You must also be 18 years of age or age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence. Where do I submit my entry?
Your entry must be submitted on the Contest website at www.humaneworld-inourhands.org by completing an official entry form. IMPORTANT: You will need to post your shadow puppet video to either Instagram or TikTok and then provide the link to your video on the entry form.
What do I need to do to enter the Contest?
To participate in this Contest:
(1) Follow @boomshadowace and @humaneworldforanimals on Instagram and/or TikTok.
(2) Record a video of your own shadow puppet, using “Solsbury Hill (Humane World for Animals Cover)” by Sia (available in both Instagram and TikTok’s music library) as the background music. You can remake one of the animals in Shadow Ace’s video(s) or create a shadow puppet of your own animal. Make sure to review the judging criteria prior to creating your video.
(3) Your video can be up to 30 seconds in length; Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any video that is longer than 30 seconds.
(4) Post your video to Instagram or TikTok and include #inourhands and #contest along with tagging @boomshadowace and @humaneworldforanimals.
(5) IMPORTANT: You must register for the Contest at www.humaneworld-inourhands.org (the “Website”) by following the instructions to complete and submit the entry form. You will be required to provide the link to your video on the entry form.
(6) Entries must be submitted via the Website and must comply with all applicable Entry Requirements outlined in the Official Rules.
(7) Your Social Media Account settings and video must remain public during the Contest Period until the prize is awarded.
When does the Contest open?
You may submit your entry beginning May 28, 2025 12:00 AM Eastern Time (ET).
What is the deadline for submitting an entry into the Contest?
All submissions must be received by June 27, 2025 at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time (ET).
How do I know my entry has been submitted?
You will see a "Thank You" message following a successful entry.
How many entries may I submit?
There is a limit of one (1) entry per person into the Contest.
Can I change my video after it is submitted on the Contest Website?
Once an entry is submitted, the entry is final and may not be modified.
How will the winner of the Contest be determined?
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria. The entry with the highest score will be deemed the winner (subject to eligibility verification).
- Creativity and Originality (30%)
- Technical Execution (25%)
- Relevance to Animal Welfare (10%)
- Visual Impression(20%)
- Overall Impact (15%)
What is the prize?
The prize consists of a 6-day/5-night Humane Journey trip for the winner and one guest to British Columbia (from September 12-17, 2025) and includes 5 nights’ accommodations (double occupancy), meals while on the Journey, Sponsor-specified excursions, and transportation to/from excursions while on the Journey. In addition, Sponsor will provide a travel cash stipend of $3,500 USD for airfare to/from British Columbia. The total value of the prize is $16,000 USD. How will I know if I won?
The potential winner will be notified by the Administrator via email.
The prize award is subject to eligibility verification.
The potential winner will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release, where legal, a Publicity Release, and a Travel Release/Questionnaire. If the winner is a U.S. resident, an IRS Form W-9 would need to be completed. If the winner is a non-U.S. resident, a Form W-8BEN would need to be completed.
The Documents must be returned to the Administrator by the date stated in the notification email or the prize will be forfeited.
Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a background check on potential winner and guest.

When will the winner be announced?
Once the winner’s eligibility has been verified, the winner will be announced on the Contest site on or about July 31, 2025.
